Artistry in Wood at the Museum of Sonoma County

Every year the Sonoma County Woodworkers Association and the Museum of Sonoma County team up to present what I consider the best exhibition of woodwork in California and beyond. Sonoma County seems to have a disproportionate number of exceptional woodworkers but the show is open to everyone and I usually like to submit several pieces.

This year I entered my Whale’s Tail, carved from a large piece of Claro Walnut; my Black Oak coffee table milled from an extraordinary piece of Black Oak harvested right here on our property and my Yin &Yang tables made from Black Walnut and figured Maple.

We are honored to say the Yin & Yang tables received the Award of Excellence.

The show runs through January 7 and the museum is located at 425 Seventh Street, Santa Rosa.

The museum's phone number is (707) 579-1500. I would encourage anyone interested in fine woodworking to stop by and take a look. Hope you can make it!
